Eye Dozed On
My coffee’s cold this mornin’…‘Cause I went back to bed
I closed my eyes completely…To clear my weary head
And I dosed off as Eye dozed on
Further on up the river…I found an old canoe
I climbed in to cross over…Seemed like the thing to do
As I dozed on…I dozed on
Now the current it was steady…Steady like a clock
The water started singin’…and made that cradle rock
As I dozed on…As I dozed on and on…I dozed on…I dozed on
Climbing out on the far shore…I knew just what to do
Lookin’ back down the river…I saw that old canoe
But I dozed on…I just dozed on
Now the trail was ascending…And the mountain it was steep
I woke up and I asked myself…If I was still asleep
As I dozed on…I just dozed on
Little man coming down the trail…I spied him from afar
Gliding gently down that slope…Like honey from a jar
As I dozed on…As I dozed on and on…I dozed on…I just dozed on
Little man stared me square in the eye, he said “Which side are you on?”
That’s when I fell out of bed…And little man was gone
So I dozed on…I just dozed on
So you might say I’m crazy…But I say it’s a fact
The future’s really just the past when you start turning back
So I doze on…I doze on
And the summit it’s still looming…While the sky is losing light
But stars will shine like blazing flowers in the garden of the night
As I doze on…As I doze on and on…I doze on…I doze on
