The Hills Of Home
Oh the hills of home are calling me
Tears are streaming down my face, and I can hardly see
Memories of mom and dad in the hill of old NC
I can’t help the way I feel, the hill are calling me

At seventeen I thought that I was old enough to roam
So I said goodbye to mom and dad and left my mountain home
But fifteen years have just went by and I ain’t found no joy
In being something that I’m not I’m just a mountain boy

Things have changed a lot since I am happily back home
The place I knew has all grown up since mom and dad and gone
But I’ll see them up in heaven, just on the other shore
And I’ll be what I’ve always been I’ll be a mountain boy
