ABOUT THE PROJECT
Unconditional Reality, the new project release from Carl Towns, is now available to all DJs and promoters.
We are focusing on "He'll Never Give Up On You" for a gospel singke, and "Misty Mountain Morning " as a secular song.
The project is a dream come true, as he was able to record with some of his Bluegrass Heroes. The project is recorded at Red Roof Recording, headed up by Dale Perry, and produced by same.
Joining Carl on the project is the aforementioned Perry, as well as Kenny and Amanda Smith (appearing courtesy of Farm Boy Records) on Guitar and Vocals, respectively, and Alan Bibey (appearing courtesy of Billy Blue Records) on mandolin.
The full project is scheduled for full release on May 31st, 2024. However, folks will be able to preorder on May 26th. And can get an early-bird copy NOW, on Carl's website at www.carltowns.com
All songs were written by Carl Towns, except for track 9, Nobody But You, is a duet with Amanda Smith. The song was originally recorded by Don Williams in the 80s, and is written by J.D. Martin and John Jarrard.
About Carl Towns...
Carl Towns is a singer/songwriter who performs "Positive Bluegrass", with his band Upward Road. Carl's music leaves out the killin' and brings on the living. Songs about life and love.
Carl was born into a musical family, having been the 5th generation musician. His father played banjo, and his mother played guitar. The family played in some configuration even before he was born. Carl began singing in churches with the family when he was 3 years old. And learned his first instrument at 10 years old.
His family formed The Bluegrass Harmoneers in 1982 and continued in that band until 1995 when Carl signed with an independent label and began his short career in the country music field.
After touring overseas Carl came home and back to the music he truly loved, Bluegrass!
He formed the group Cherokee Wind, when he returned, and after sickness took his mother in 2006, the music stopped for a time.
He became inspired to return two years later, formed The Carl Towns band. Later he joined with Barefoot Nellie & Co. After the pandemic hit, Carl decided to move on and began thinking about the Positive Bluegrass. There were plenty of bands singing hard-core, heartbreak, murder, and life. He wanted to bring a to the world and started developing Upward Road.
Carl is glad to get some of that Positive Bluegrass out there with his first project, Unconditional Reality. He continues writing everyday, teaching private lessons and currently working on a band CD and ready to book events.
