This song was inspired by a self proclaimed "beach bum" named Skateboard Kenny, that Kevin Denney, one of the song writers met while on a two week gig down to Key West, FL...several years back.
The story Denney tells, is that Skateboard Kenny was on vacation himself, from up north, and decided that he loved the Keys so much that he was going to stay there and pop tops for the locals and "Get a lotta living done."
