Pinecastle Records is proud to announce the signing of The Burnett Sisters Band, a North Carolina-based group renowned for their rich family harmonies, musicianship, and modern flair rooted in bluegrass and folk. To celebrate this exciting new venture, the band has released their brand-new single, “Sorrow Grief and Pain."

Written by group member Geary Allen, "Sorrow Grief and Pain" is a fast-paced track that highlights the band's exceptional musicianship and sibling harmonies. Anneli Burnett leads with commanding vocals while also playing fiddle and mandolin, supported by Anissa Burnett on fiddle and harmony vocals, and Sophia Burnett on bass. The song’s darker, reflective lyrics convey a message of loneliness, brought to life by the dynamic instrumentation. Geary Allen contributes guitar, banjo, and harmony vocals, rounding out the sound, while engineer Dan Boner provides guest fiddle, as well as assistance in the production of the track.

Known for their dynamic stage presence and seamless interplay, The Burnett Sisters Band have captivated audiences around the world, earning a reputation for their genre-defying performances. Blending bluegrass, old-time, swing, and folk, their sound draws from a deep well of musical influences that celebrate both tradition and innovation.

The Burnett Sisters Band's accolades speak volumes about their talent and dedication to preserving traditional music. In 2022, they claimed the top prize at the prestigious MerleFest Band Competition, and most recently, Anissa and Anneli Burnett earned individual top honors at the 2024 Old Galax Fiddlers Convention. Alongside their busy performance schedule, the Burnetts serve as dedicated instructors in programs like Watauga Junior Appalachian Musicians and the Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Roots Music Studies at East Tennessee State University.
