Reckless & Wild
I don't know if I was born this way
Something made me what I am today
When it's all done and said
What you see is what you get

I go to bed most nights
Close enough to hear the neighbors fight
So close to so many lives
So many miles away in my mind

It's fair to say I'm complicated
I fight the urge to be domesticated
I daydream about bein' all alone
I don't mind the glow of the city lights
But I'll take the stars every time
When it's all done and said
What you see is what you get
I am a southern child, rough, reckless and wild

It seems the older that I get
The easier it is to admit
That the blood running through my veins
Needs wide open spaces and that's ok

It's fair to say I'm complicated
I fight the urge to be domesticated
I daydream about bein' all alone
I don't mind the glow of the city lights
But I'll take the stars every time
When it's all done and said
What you see is what you get
I am a southern child, rough, reckless and wild

It's not about what's right or wrong
It's about what makes you whole
What makes you feel at home

It's fair to say I'm complicated
I fight the urge to be domesticated
I daydream about bein' all alone
I don't mind the glow of the city lights
But I'll take the stars every time
When it's all done and said
What you see is what you get
I am a southern child, rough, reckless and wild
