Strong
Strong

Through the window she can see the falling leaves.
Soon the winter wind will blow.
It’s the 18th she will face without him,
but she no longer fears the cold
ooooooooo

By the mantle neatly stacked against the wall,
red oak she cut in the spring
There’s enough to keep her warm all season long,
and some for the neighbors if they need

Their a young pair starting out.
She’s been there where they are now

When the sun goes down and darkness takes its place.
She recalls the past and longs for brighter days
There’s a longing in her soul to be free.
She is strong but wished she didn’t have to be
Oooooo,oooooo,oooooo,ooooo

On the nightstand an old photo in a frame,
A couple on their wedding day
40 years can steal memories away,
But what’s in your heart can’t be erased

She’s as fragile as a rose, and yet tougher than she knows.
When the sun goes down and darkness takes its place.
She recalls the past and longs for brighter days
There’s a longing in her soul to be free.
She is strong but wished she didn’t have to be
Oooooo,oooooo,oooooo,ooooo
When the sun goes down and darkness takes its place.
She recalls the past and longs for brighter days
There’s a longing in her soul to be free.
She is strong but wished she didn’t have to be
Oooooo,oooooo,oooooo,ooooo
