Prayer From Home
Yellow moon is shining through the window, another summer day is past and gone. Another sleepless night lies ahead of me I guess, counting down the days till you return.

By now I guess the morning light will find you, half a world away from your home.

Little baby Julie said a prayer for you today, thought you’d like to hear a word from home.

Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, I’ve thanked you for my family like I should. All the soldiers and my Dad, God don’t let em be too sad, and bring em all home Lord real soon. Oh and god is great God is good.

Yellow moon is shining across the desert sands tonight, it’s sad to see a soldier when he cries, and before they put him on that plane, and covered him up with the flag, she opened up his letter back home.

I guess by now the morning light will find you, half a world away from my arms. Please tell baby Julie that I love her more than life, and Daddy wont’ be gone for very long.

Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, God protect my family while I’m gone. Should I die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take me back unto the place that I call home. Lord I’m coming home real son, and God is great, God is good.
