BIOGRAPHY OF BRAND NEW STRINGS - 2010 IBMA SHOWCASE ARTIST

Hard drivin' bluegrass songs, both original and traditional, along with fresh new bluegrass gospel tunes, fine instrumentation, and two strong lead vocalists make up this exciting new band comprised of Randall Massengill, Mike Ramsey, Stuart Wrick, Tim Tipton and Preston Schmidt.

BRAND NEW STRINGS members have worked together in other band configurations during the years, including Ramsey and Wyrick touring over 10 years with the gospel bluegrass band, New Road, and Massengill part of that time as well. Tipton was a founding member of the popular group, Blue Moon Rising, which Massengill was also a member.

BRAND NEW STRINGS formed in late 2008 and by February of 2009, they won the Society and Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America’s (SPBGMA) Band Competition and two other band competitions. In October 2009 during the IBMA World of Bluegrass, the band signed a recording contract with Rural Rhythm Records and the label release Brand New Strings first album, "NO STRINGS ATTACHED" in February 2010 that includes their first radio single release, "Merry Go Round."

"NO STRINGS ATTACHED" is Rural Rhythm's first digipak album release with packaging that looks like a package of brand new strings. This CD was recorded in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee with studio owner and Producer, Steve Gulley.
