Looking Forward to the Rain

dark clouds rolling in calms me down - distant clap of thunder rumblin’ loud - light paints the sky and hides my pain - once again, i’m looking forward to the rain - the sound sends me off to dream just like a child - God’s own excuse to kick back for a while - it’s true there’s nothing like a sunny day - but i’ll keep looking forward to the rain - the same old song and dance grinds me down - like a crushing weight added pound by pound - something’s gotta break this day-to-day - that’s why i look forward to the rain - i may never be able to explain why i keep looking forward to the rain
