Rise Again

been a long time comin’ but now it’s just too much - people who can stand just fine are leanin’ on the crutch - i hear the thunder rollin’, the storm is comin’ in - ghosts on old battlefields gettin’ restless again - can’t tell right from wrong these days just gettin’ what you want - kid cries at the back of the line, they move ‘em to the front - gives you strong deja vu, this time we’re livin’ in - before the clock chimes twelve, it’s time to rise again - who thinks folks should earn their own way? it’s time to look at where we’ve been - just starin’ down another doomsday - who thinks it’s time to rise again? this kind of thing can happen when folks lose their say - even when we tell ‘em no, they do it anyway - in the end, just keep sayin’ we thought we knew what’s best - well, I say stand together, to hell with all the rest - we think folks should earn their own way - cause we understand where we’ve been - we can’t just let ‘em have their doomsday - we think it’s time to rise again
