09. ONE OF THOSE DAYS
ONE OF THOSE DAYS

Sometimes late at night, just before your busy day gives way to sleep,
a memory might surpirse you, its brilliant light burst shining from the deep,
maybe it was some special day, beaming like the sun cuts through the haze,
now I see you standing on the sand,
I hear you laugh,
I touch your hand,
I’ve lived long enough to understand,
this is one of those days.

Sometimes when your looking away, when there’s nothing further from your mind,
some fragrance of the summer brings images you thought you’d left behind,
the color of grass, the taste of an orange, or a song someone is whistling in a daze,
I taste the salty ocean now,
I hear the surf break ‘cross the prow,
I feel you near, I know somehow,
this is one of those days.

The rocking of the water,
gliding throught it like an otter,
sunlight twinkling on the waves,
this is one of those days.

A day spent with good friends,
the tide rolls out and the tide rolls in,
all those funny things you say,
this is one of those days.

The morning sun was warm and bright, but now the fogs rolled in and it’s time to go,
but I don’t feel the cold today, I’m heated up by an inner glow,
we wind along the country road, stop at a little store just up a way,
glad to let the night begin,
tomorrow we can start again,
one thing that I know, my friend,
I’m keeping this one ‘til the end,
this is one of those days.

The rocking of the water,
gliding throught it just like an otter.............
