Beefbone Music
Beefbone got the name in Detroit in the 70s. In the early
days of Indie, Beefbone fronted The Butchers, Joe Blow,
and Parchman Farm, garnering top ten college radio hits.
The Butchers played on the steps of Los Angeles City Hall
every weekend in ‘87 to crowds of homeless people.
ICE T recorded “Justiceville,” The Butchers seminal
Homeless benefit hit, and was inspired to form Body Count.
Beefbone painted movie sets in Hollywood.
Green Party candidate Beefbone ran for the California
State Assembly in 2002.
Beefbone teaches prison inmates in the San Francisco
Bay area, alternating with stays in the Mojave Desert.
Two kids call Beefbone “Dad.”
The Beefbone Music label superceded NotOwn Records
which has been issuing Indie product since 1984.
Beefbone also performs with the band Militant Dove.
