Another Fantastic Review of Hearts In Blues!
Bear & Robert
Hearts In Blues
Blue Chihuahua Records BCRCD-008

Hearts In Blues took me to a place I had not seen since the 60s, when blues artists were being located and introduced to a much broader market, as part of the folk/blues scene. Cindy (Bear) and Franc (Robert) have not only picked up the torch, they deliver folk and blues in a way that beautifully pays homage to those pioneers who made it all possible…folks like Mississippi John Hurt, Leadbelly, Josh White, Son House and more. Bear (6 string, 12 string and resonator guitars, harmonica, bass & vocals) & Robert (6 string and resonator guitars, bass, foot percussion & vocals) are first-rate storytellers as well as accomplished musicians. Their interaction, both musically and personally, is warm and inviting, making for an intimate encounter in any setting. Their set compares not only to those blues & folk artists, but to Johnny & June Carter Cash. In this age where so much of what we hear is high-tech and high-speed, this duo is a breath of fresh air. This is as much an important part of our blues heritage as any other. – Bill Wilson
