Tennessee Jed Fisher - New Beginnings
New Beginnings is a mostly autobiographical account of TN Jed Fisher's experience with Covid, the ensuing breakup of his new marriage, and most importantly, his choice to embrace the possibilities of a fresh start amidst the chaos. Jed got back together with banjo phenom and co-producer, Scott Vestal (formerly of Sam Bush Band, Sturgill Simpson Bluegrass Band) at his studio in the suburbs of Nashville, TN, and they put together an all-star bluegrass band for the recording.

TENNESSEE JED FISHER BIOGRAPHY
Tennessee Jed Fisher writes songs that tell stories in a neo-traditional style, then sings and plays them
with a passion that brings those stories to life. With a tenor voice that ranges from smooth and
mountain-clear to an overdriven bluesy growl, Jed’s fresh take on Bluegrass, Newgrass, and Americana
music pushes the boundaries of the style while paying full respect to the rich heritage that surrounds it.
A Tennessee native with a home base in NC, Jed and his partner, Carrie, now travel the country with two
cats and a dog in a small RV.
Jed builds his music around his solid picking hand and fiery voice, and then adds the fireworks. Working
with a multitude of Grammy and IBMA award winners/nominees in the studio, Jed surrounds himself
with some of the most respected pickers and singers in bluegrass. Led by co-producer and living banjo
legend, Scott Vestal, Jed assembled a dream team for his latest project, New Beginnings, that includes
Mike Bub (bass), Deanie Richardson (fiddle), James Seliga (mandolin), Jason Carter (fiddle), Rob Ickes
(resophonic guitar), Trey Hensley (guitar), Mark Schimick (mandolin, vocals), Josh Shilling (vocals), and
Mason Via (vocals). New Beginnings tells a semi-autobiographical tale of the end of a marriage and the
beginning of a new love in pandemic times.
Over the course of his career, TN Jed Fisher has recorded with current and former members of Ricky
Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Del McCoury Band, Old Crow Medicine Show, Steep Canyon Rangers, Sam
Bush Band, Leftover Salmon, Infamous Stringdusters, Dailey & Vincent, Sister Sadie, Town Mountain, Jon
Stickley Trio, Volume Five, Mountain Heart, Ben Folds Five, Songs From the Road Band, Che Apalache, Yo
Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, and The Waybacks.
