MICHAEL WEISKOPF
“LOST IN AMERIKA ”
Born and raised in NYC, Michael is a world
traveler having performed throughout the US
and Europe. His writing influences include
Bob Dylan, Smokey Robinson, Mary
Gauthier and John Prine (Weiskopf says
that he was lucky to write "Tattoo of
Jesus" because Mr. Prine would have
eventually done it). He defines his music
as "smart lyrics, with surprising and
frequently unexpected instrumentation".
. "Lost in Amerika- 9 1/2 Stories” is
Michael's fourth album of original material.
Produced by Michael and Steve Bass it was
recorded in the Winter of 2017-18 in Miami
at Criteria Studios and Mastered at Abbey
Road in the UK. The album is themed as 9
1/2 short stories with a nod to Mr.Dylan
on the closing track. The Album features
songs that range from Roots Music
("Wrong Trail Blues") to Free Form
Jazz ("Opioid").

all around"
Gordon Lightfoot
Michael Weiskopf has that uncanny ability to write personal songs with universal
appeal."
- Joe Vecchio
WUSB Radio Stony Brook University NY
"Weiskopf writes, sings and performs solid material with strong guitar lines and
literate lyrics. He may not be Dylan, but he’s still pretty damn good."
- Steve Horowitz, Pop Matters
”Mr. Weiskopf turns inward on “Love & Entropy,” exploring the inevitable
conflicting emotions of both relationships and their aftermath."
- Christopher Walsh, East Hampton Star
