You Can't Hide Money (When you're in a Bluegrass Band)
Cumberland County Line Bluegrass formed in 2014 and is located in the Piedmont region of North
Carolina. They deliver traditional bluegrass and gospel music much in the style reminiscent of the old
bluegrass groups of the past. Keeping bluegrass the way it was meant to be.
“You Can’t Hide Money”. Bob Phillips wrote and performs the title track, a story familiar to every
bluegrass musician who invests thousands of dollars in their equipment, is willing to drive hundreds of
miles to share their joy of bluegrass music, all the while making TENS of dollars.
“Bladen County Blues”. Highway 87 runs through Bladen County, NC and offers visitors many
opportunities to meet with a ne member of the Sheriff’s Department, and if you’re not careful you
could come down with the “Bladen County Blues”. Written and performed by Bob Phillips.
Garland Johnston performs his own great ballads on this album: one of love lost with “She Said
Leave” and the other, love of family with “Home Sweet Home”.
“Up At The Light”. Bob performs this song he wrote about the heart ache of losing your Mother and
the joy that comes from the promise of reuniting in Heaven.
“Rain A Little On Me Too”. Bob sings this gospel number written by John Harrell. In the tradition of
driving bluegrass gospels, this one will get your foot taping and lift your faith in Jesus Christ. When
the pressures of life start getting you down the Lord is always there to rain a little mercy down.
