I stumbled upon the phrase "Broken Eyes" while browsing a small local antique shop when I discovered some real broken glass eyes for sale. Yes, kind of creepy. They were not meant to be actually used for their original purpose of course, but rather for art projects an the like. The broken eye pieces were placed upon a piece of velvet with a small sign, "Broken Eyes $15/ea." Although there is no direct connection between the eyes in the store and the song, I liked the phrase Broken Eyes, and wrote the song around that phrase.
