"Bluegrass Til the Day I Die" was first composed in 2009 and I recorded it with a band I was touring with at the time. The original version was meant as a tribute to Bluegrass music in general. For this album, I decided to re-write the song making it more specific to the songs of Bill Monroe in that the first and last verses are composed of Monroe's song titles.
