Grandpa's Old Guitar
Standing in the corner in the back room of my house
An old guitar stands silent no way to make a sound
Long since been forgotten due to life and other things
The guitar my grandpa gave to me

I got it when I was young for the lessons that I took
Five dollars for an hour I learned to play out of a book
It used to ring out notes for hours but now sit quietly
The guitar my grandpa gave to me

Chorus
Now the years go by and life goes on and you do what you gotta do
I'd love to string up that old six string box and play a song or two
A little bit of Jimmy Rogers with the band in Tennessee
The guitar my grandpa gave to me

I guess he thought Id be a player on the stage and radio
But I set it down and left it why I still don't know
Its just a mirror of a memory of the past and family
The guitar my grandpa gave to me

Chorus
