Biography
Flatland Harmony Experiment is a non-traditional vocally driven bluegrass string band based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. FHE started in the summer 2011. Since then the Flatland Harmony Experiment has worked relentlessly across the midwest and has been received with open arms. Flatland Harmony Experiment is Scott Nelson on upright bass, Kris Potts on Mandolin, and Johnny Plott on Banjo.
Some of the bands accomplishments are listed below:
-Played in over 30 local/regional/national music festivals
-Shared billing with industry leaders and musical heroes
-Actively play and have played in IN, IL, WI, MI, OH, KY, TN, MO
-Playing 150+ shows per year
-Largest audience to date numbering 1500+ for a single bill
-Recorded, mixed and released an all original
full length album entitled “On Our Way“- September 2012
-The APD Global Radio Indicator Charts for the month of October charted Flatland Harmony Experiment’s CD “On Our Way”
#9 in the Top 50 Albums- October 2012

-Over 1000 downloads of the album from radio programers around the globe

-Flatland Harmony Experiment competed in the 40th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition and was a Finalist and 3rd place award winner, June, 2013
-Release of Flatland Harmony Experiment’s second CD “A Night with Woody” September, 2013
-Midwest, East coast, Mountain. and European tours are in the works for 2014
