The Jeepers (Mariachi Style)
The Jeepers (Mariachi Style)
by Amy Ames

I was down in Mexico sitting in a cantina
Minding my own business just drinking tequila
He started to tease me for being a lightweight Anglo
And he introduced me to his compadre Oso Negro.

He scared the jeepers out of me.
I hung on all night for my dear life in a bear hold
Around the porcelain bowl.
He scared the jeepers out of me.
He scared the jeepers out of me.

As I was leaving, my tail a dragging
My ego being taunted by his bully ragging.
I spun around to tell him, next time you won’t be joking
Cause I’m bringing my old friend Ole Smoky.

He scared the jeepers out of me.
I hung on all night for my dear life in a bear hold
Around the porcelain bowl.
He scared the jeepers out of me.
He scared the jeepers out of me

And we’re gonna have a pachunga hotter than a jalapeno.
And I’ll I will bring Ole Smokey and you, you bring Oso Negro.
Now I will match you shot for shot as the mariachi band moans
And the last one standing will get to claim the throne.
Now I’m bringing a jug of my Grandma’s homemade brew
He turned white as a snow
and I knew he was through.

Cause I heard him say
She scares the jeepers out of me.
I’ll hang on all night for my dear life
In a bear hold around the porcelain bowl.
She scares the jeepers out of me. (I heard him say)
She scares the jeepers out of me. (I heard him say)
