She Talks A Lot
She Talks A Lot
by Amy Ames

She staggered to the bar put a five in the jar.
Said Bartender, “I’ll take another beer.”
A comment a stool down caught her left ear
The conversation about her was clear.
They didn’t think she knew Spanish, but she knows
No cerveza porque luago habla mucho
In translation here is what she got.
Don’t give her beer cause she talks a lot.
They didn’t think she knew, but she knows
Ella habla espanol.
They didn’t think she knew, but she knows
Ella habla mucho.
The gossip continued and she only froze.
Listening to every word that they spoke.
Not even a budge when they got to
The part on how she tells really bad jokes.
She leaned over the bar and said,
Bartender Sir, I think I’ve changed my mind
I’d like to order 3 shots of Everclear
For me and for these guys right here.
She held up her shot and said, “I’d like to make a toast?”
My friends if you think I talk a lot when I drink beer
You ought to hear me speak Spanish when I shoot Everclear.
No, they didn’t think she knew Spanish, but she knows
No cerveza porque luago habla mucho.
In translationhere is what she got:
Don’t give her a beer because she talks a lot.
They didn’t think she knew, but she knows
Ella habla espanol.
They didn’t think she knew, but she knows
Ella habla mucho.
They didn’t think she knew, but she knows
Ella habla espanol.
They didn’t think I knew, but I know
Yo hablo mucho.
Yo hablo mucho.
Yo hablo expanol.
