Dennis Gurwell is a product of the Bakersfield, CA area. He has been playing in various types of bands since the mid-60's. He moved to the Los Angeles area in the late 1960's and has been there ever since. He has played in a variety of Rock, Country, Celtic and Zydeco bands during that time. He spent much of 2010-2011 playing with guitarist and producer Pete Anderson, best know for his 20 years of work with Country singer Dwight Yoakam.

On these recordings, Dennis plays Keyboards, Accordion, Guitar, and Bass, in addition to Vocals.

He presently plays accordion with Bonne Musique Zydeco, keyboards and accordion with Blues artist Lightnin' Willie & the Poor Boys, and accordion with poet/songwriter Ruben Martinez and the Martinez del Rio band.

Helping Dennis out on these recordings are guitarists Gregg Wright, Lazy Brad Lewis, and Ron de Palma; drummers Chris Ross and Andre Allen; Doug Gurwell on trumpet, Phil Feathers on clarinet, Mike Dageaux on trombone, Laurence Wright on banjo, and Sweet Baby J'ai Michel on backing vocals.
