Life on the Farm
Daddy smells like diesel fuel, mama smells like the kitchen
I can't wait to get out of here to see all that I've been missin'
Bright lights and city nights calling my name
Maybe I'll strike it rich hit fortune and fame

They don't know, they don't mean no one no harm
But I know the city is better than life on the farm

So I packed my bags and I headed out there
The bars, the drugs, the parties were more than I could bear
It was fun for a while, then I ran out of cash
Friends I thought I had made acted like I was trash

I didn't know, didn't mean no one no harm
But now I am longing for life on the farm

So I crawled back home with nothing but the clothes on my back
Mama gave me a hug, daddy turned and laughed
He said, "Son I know we ain't got a lot of flash"
But all that glitters isn't gold and sure ain't made to last

I didn't know, didn't mean no one no harm
But there ain't nothing better than life on the farm
Now I know I was doing myself wrong
'Cause there ain't nothing better than life on the farm
