This track features a very unusual pairing of Christmas carols for instrumental harp. It’s as if a cinematographer provides two scenes: the first, Es ist en Ros entsprungen, a closeup of Mary, compared to a single Rose blooming in stillness, anticipating the birth of her Son. After this contemplative mood, the scene shifts to the wintry scene of the Nativity as
The Snow Lay on the Ground unfurls. Unbridled joy abounds in the joyous strains, when, the camera shifts back, once again to tranquility: now of the Manger scene in silent wonder.
