What Child Is This is perhaps one of the most beloved Christmas tunes played on celtic harp, commonly known by its alternate title: Greensleeves. Alternating with this tune is the plaintive chant Veni Emmanuel or O Come, O Come Emmanuel, traditionally sung in Advent before Christmas arrives. The harp weaves both tunes in the style brisé, an arpeggiated style for lute/harpsichord popular in music of the Baroque period with hint of modern syncopation thrown in the mix.
