Biography
Hans Rotenberry's "Super Tuesday" is the RIGHT SONG FOR RIGHT NOW. "Super Tuesday" was rated by The New Yorker as this year's #2 Song About Voting (behind Alice Cooper's "Elected"). It is THE must-hear, must-play song for 2012, beginning with the real Super Tuesday (March 6) leading all the way up to the Ultimate Super Tuesday - Election Day (November 6) and all the debates in October. Just read the lyrics and see how relevant and pertinent the track is throughout the entire election season regardless of anyone's political affiliation.
2012 brings not only the Presidential election in the United States, but a timely re-release of "Super Tuesday" as a single. The song is from the landmark album by Hans Rotenberry's trailblazing power pop group The Shazam, GODSPEED THE SHAZAM, originally released only on CD (1999/Not Lame) and later digitally. The album will soon be released as a collector's edition vinyl record.
Hans Rotenberry was rock 'n roll when rock 'n' roll wasn't retro. He has released six albums of timeless and consistently great material as a solo artist and with his band, all of them without the aid of a major label or substantial commercial airplay. Rotenberry is considered to have started Nashville’s power pop scene when he debuted his band, The Shazam in 1995.
Though British Invasion and classic rock influences are apparent in his music, Rotenberry's inspired songwriting, unaffected voice, and sparkling wit shine through to create a style that is uniquely his own.
The Shazam released their first album in 1999, and their most recent in 2009. In 2010, Hans and his long-time friend, 4-time Shazam producer Brad Jones released "Mountain Jack," a 10-song Americana collaboration which was distributed in Japan in 2012. He is completing work on the sixth Shazam album, "Doomsday Hotel."
