Biography
Ashton Brett Dunn (born Oct. 26th 1995) is an Eastern Ky, native who grew up in Jackson, Ky, and currently teaches music at two high-schools in Buckhorn and Pine Ridge, Ky. He attended the Kentucky School of Bluegrass and Traditional Music in Hyden, Ky, after high-school where he graduated with honors before transferring to Morehead State University where he is now completing a Bachelors in Traditional Music Studies.
The idea of the single, "Heart to Pine," came from a walk across a hillside late in the November weather. It came from the idea, of taking the feeling of solitude you have while on a mountain side, walking and having a conversation with The Lord about the things going on in your life. And of course, the end of a relationship. It is the follow up single after 2019's "Cherry Street and Main," charted at number 33 on the Airplay Direct singles charts, being picked up for radio airplay in multiple countries around the world, and being viewed and streamed across all platforms more then forty thousand times.
"Heart to Pine" and "Cherry Street and Main" were written and arranged by Ashton Brett Dunn, and recorded, mixed and mastered at the Kentucky School of Bluegrass and Traditional Music in Hyden, Ky, and Fat Cave Studios in Jackson, Ky.
