Convicted
Staring out the window wondering who I am
Trying to forget you, not sure that I can
Glaring blank pages, a story that I just can’t write
Not knowing all the outcomes, yet haunted by your sight
I understand the motive and sympathize the crime
Though chained to your convictions, you’d rather do the time
All this contradiction racing through my mind
Dancing a very fine line with this heart of mine
In the garden of good and evil tempted by that fruit
A slow poison to my system threatening to root
Half scared but so alive I reach for just a taste
Knowing the consequence, my heart begins to race
I understand the motive and sympathize the crime
Though chained to your convictions, you’d rather do the time
All this contradiction racing through my mind
Dancing a very fine line with this heart of mine
In the Devil’s Courthouse I’m on trial for treason
Betrayed by a heart that won’t listen to reason
Judgments are made and the verdict is in
I’m convicted for life to a love out on the wind…
