ASHIRA BIO

Áshira’s music which is a Pop/R&B blend that can be played in parties or car rides. Ashira was discovered and established in Atlanta – Georgia, though born and raised in South Africa with a birth name Coceka Mhlawuli which when translated means çlean pure soul’. Her interest in music started when she was 18years old but was opposed by family and friends who encouraged her to proceed to College degree and work like a regular citizen does. She studied up to graduating her Master’s in Business Admin (MBA) but still the music interest was growing even stronger. She held senior strategic job positions at financial institutions and that enabled her to afford financing her own music project that was produced by a multi Grammy nominee Producer in the USA. Her intentions were to move into music as a career as that is where her passion lies.

In 2012 she was approached by two producers who convinced to work on an album for her. The album was of 13 songs all of which she wrote herself. She then released this as her first album in February 2013 and titled it Divinity.

Ashira has a philosophy of ‘Keep it moving’ which implies people need to keep trying out better opportunities. She is applying all she learnt through life experiences in writing her songs.
