01 Cedar Box
When I sat at my daddy’s knee
I learned the strength of honesty.
And more that the Good Book has
I learned from both the good and bad.
As a child in my mother’s arms
I was taught we should do no harm.
And as a youth it simplified
The way that I would live my life.

Lay me down in a Cedar Box.
Send me home without a fuss.
All the riches here on earth
do not define my total worth.

As a youth I was terrified
to not fit in, yet stay dignified.
There were things that mattered more to me.
Like family, home, and being free.

Lay me down in a Cedar Box.
Send me home without a fuss.
All the riches here on earth
do not define my total worth.

And now I’ve faced death once or twice.
And I can look back with a smile.
As I was taught to live with grace
I’ll meet my maker face to face.

Lay me down in a Cedar Box.
Send me home without a fuss.
All the riches here on earth
do not define my total worth.

Angels fly without warning.

Take me down where the air blows free.
Where water runs clear and the grass is green.
If I should die before I wake
I pray to the Lord my soul he takes.
I pray my dear Lord my soul you take.

Lay me down in a Cedar Box.
Send me home without a fuss.
All the riches here on earth
do not define my total worth.
