Biography
Born in Brighton in 1981, Anne grew up in Essex and Sussex and learned piano from the age of five, and later violin. She sang any chance she got, but for a long time her choices led her away from music: a degree in history, three years spent living and teaching in Japan, returning to London in 2005 to career fusing together translation and accountancy. Always drawn back to the piano, she played in dusty basement practice rooms and drafty school halls until finally buying a piano in 2008, which in time, with some added inspiration from singing with local choirs, led her back to songwriting.

2009 saw the release of her first album, Residual Emotion from which two songs, Wandering Eyes and Ride The Pain were awarded semi-finalist ratings in the UK Songwriting Contest. Moving to part-time work in 2010 gave Anne more time to focus on writing her second album, Stating The Obvious, released in February 2011.

Anne writes and produces all her own material and feels most at home at the piano, but is teaching herself guitar too. She loves to experiment with multi-layered harmonies and conveys a direct, raw emotion with her soulful vocals.
