Biography
No musical styles have had a bigger impact on my life than the old, traditional blues of Lightnin’ Hopkins, Mississippi John Hurt, & Muddy Waters, just to name a few. Whenever things are hard, not right, & going all wrong, it’s this that grabs me & sets it right. It says, “Yes, things are bad right now, but you’re going to be all right. Just keep movin’ son.”

Gospel music, I mean, real, deep down in your soul gospel music moves me deeply. It’s not the “high church”, “highly educated” sound; it’s the music that came out of the fields, music that came from a long, hard days work. It came from the ground, from the soil & the dirt of man’s convictions. & it’s the kind of music I hear...It’s the music that makes the hair on the back of the neck stand up. Makes the soul sway from the inside & grabs the body makin’ it move with out even knowing.
