South Carolina-based singer/songwriter and guitarist Andrew Crawford is thrilled to release his brand new single, “The Guitar,” featuring Grammy Award-winning fiddler Michael Cleveland. Originally written and recorded by Guy Clark, this powerful tune has been reimagined with a fresh Bluegrass perspective.

“It’s a song every guitar player should hear,” says Crawford. “This song has always made me listen, truly immersed, the way I used to listen to music as a child. Since the first time I heard this song, I remember thinking how neat it would be presented from the flatpicking Bluegrass perspective. I wanted it to be all about the guitar, but I also wanted another instrument to feel featured. The one and only Michael Cleveland on the fiddle gave this track an all-new meaning and feeling to me. If you know anything about Mike, you already know what I mean.”

Andrew Crawford’s rendition of “The Guitar” stays true to the inspiring narrative of a guitar found in a pawn shop, with each note telling the story of its journey through time. The track features an impressive lineup of musicians including Michael Cleveland on fiddle, Tim Crouch on bass and mandolin, alongside Crawford on guitars and lead vocals. This release follows the success of Crawford’s previous charting single “Back With A Lonesome Sound,” which dropped over the summer and resonated with fans of Bluegrass and Americana.

In addition to his solo career, Andrew Crawford is an active member of Wilson Banjo Co., after recently joining the group alongside his wife, Brandi Colt. Crawford and Colt have also released a string of collaborative recordings over the past two years. Known for his extraordinary guitar skills, Crawford has shared the stage with some of the most respected names in Bluegrass and beyond including Vince Gill, Jim Lauderdale, Dale Ann Bradley, Rhonda Vincent and Randy Kohrs, among others. His passion for both performing and storytelling through music continues to captivate audiences across the country.
