Family pictures in the driveway, someone’s eyes closed every time
Kids hangin’ on the front yard fence, bikes leanin’ on their sides
Hide n’ Seek in the backyard, Kick the Can at dark
Hittin’ balls against the garage door,
Well that’s gonna leave a mark uh hu.. uh hu

Framed portraits line the hallway, awkward poses from each grade
Old cat sleepin’ in a sunny spot on the blanket Grandma made
Come in through the mud room, watch the hole in the screen door
Shoes piled in the corner on the faux brick vinyl floor…. Uh hu.. uh hu

My exterior’s been kept up ‘bout as good as it can be
Got my share of wear and tear and it ain’t hard to see
Seen a lot of changes … got earned LONGEVITY
And I’m still standin’…. BUILT IN THE 70S

TV in the basement, bean bags on the floor
Carpet in a shade of green that you can’t get no more
August supper on the back porch, way too hot to eat
Past 7 and its still light out, the crickets’ song so sweet
uh hu..uh hu

Got my share of wear and tear and it ain’t hard to see

Stood tall when snow piled 6 feet high, kept cool under the trees
Hunkered down in howlin’ winds
Breathed in the sweet warm air of a summertime breeze

One bathroom in the upstairs hall, you're gonna have to wait your turn
The window sills are all scratched up,that dog will never learn
Rush out through the front door, catch the school bus driving past
Pencil marks on the kitchen wall, kids growin’ up too fast
uh hu.. uh hu
