The Ghost Of The Young Soldiers
Written on the 50th anniversary of D-Day after watching many documentaries about that battle and the later Battle Of The Bulge. How did soldiers muster up the courage to march, swim, and parachute into nothing less than Hell's fire? Particularly struck by the story of 3 men ordered at midnight during the Bulge Battle to sweep a dirt road for mines before a tank battalion attack at dawn. With no mine sweeper these guys, on hands and knees with frozen finger and blade, swept every inch of that road. Just as the sky was waking they plunged their blades into the last foot of road and found no mine. They laughed, cried, and hugged each other in the joy of utter relief. They had given themselves up for dead, but with the new morning found new life.

We tried recording this years earlier and couldn't get the drums just right. Ryan Hurn that's the man!

Amy & Mary doubled on taps solo.

We finished recording the vocals on June 6, 2011, the 67th
anniversary of D-Day.
