An Gasúr Dána/An Ghirseach Dholba/Ríl na mBreac Beadaí (Reels)
Three newly composed reels by Mark Kelly. Mark amuses himself here in the titles with the different versions of how to say “bold” in the Irish language. “An Gasúr Dána” meaning “the bold boy,” “An Ghirseach Dholba” meaning “the bold girl” in Donegal Irish, and “Ríl na mBreac Beadaí”, which is named after a lake (Loch na mBreac Beadaí) in the Derryveagh Mountain Range in Co. Donegal. “Loch na mBreac Beadaí” translates as “The Lake of the Cheeky Fish,” so the reel is named “The Reel of the Cheeky Fish.” A wonderful sense of fun!
