Port Árainn Mhór/Port Kitty Rua Mooney (Jigs)
Two jigs, composed by Mairéad, in praise of Arranmore island off the northwest coast of Co. Donegal. That’s where her clan, the Mooneys, settled as boat builders back in the 1900s when they first arrived in Co. Donegal, and where she enjoys visiting regularly to reconnect with the people and music, especially during the annual Féile Róise Rua Festival. The second jig is in praise of her mother, Kitty Rua Mooney, who is a wonderful woman and is still enjoying life in her 90’s!
