Lament
So again I resolve
to never take a chance like this again

And if ever I should feel tempted,
please remind me

Because I'm fragile
My intuition cannot be trusted
with the risks I am taking
and what I have to lose

So I'm asking myself:
How could I be so wrong?

When God made woman,
surely he blessed her with a heart and perception

I feel defenseless:
none of the skill,
but just the hunger.

The hunger to do
what a woman needs to do.

Can you show me a man
who's passion burns bright and clear?

And if so,
let him tell me,
for then I'll be certain.

'Cause what good is the giving
when there ain't nobody there to take it...
to take it?

That's what we do
That's what we do
A woman gives

But what good is the giving
when there ain't nobody there to take it?

That's what we do
That's what we do
A woman gives
