Freight Train

Being a guitar player, I've heard this song all of my life and associated it with Chet Atkins. I remember listening to my Dad's scratchy record of it when I was young. Recently I found a video of Elizabeth Cotten (the writer) performing this only a couple of years before she passed at the age of 94, and to me it's one of the most beautiful pieces of Americana I've heard. This arrangement is something I have been playing just the chords to for some time, though I've never had anyone play it with me. So I could never play the melody to it until we were in the studio, and this is what I heard in my head all that time. It started as an instrumental, but I couldn't resist getting Wayne to sing a little of it.
