Biography
“MAYBE IT’S A GOOD THING” - BRAND NEW CD!!!

The Allen-Lamun Band is fronted by husband and wife team of Dave Allen and “Little Laura” Lamun
(pronounced LAY-mun), lifelong music-business veterans who joined efforts in 2007. Their special sound is a
combination of true blues, old-school funk and blues rock with an interesting twist: lots of harmony-singing
and a duet vocal sound that is unique in the genre. Plus, these singer/songwriters know how to write a song
that stays in your head all day! Their music is upbeat and energetic, and all 12 songs on this release are
originals. The band features some of Nashville’s finest blues musicians, so the record showcases an expert
level of musicianship, and proves what a hotbed of Blues there is in Music City. This second album was recorded
mostly live at The Colemine, a studio making waves for recording Shaun Murphy, Johnny Neel and many
others. The Allen-Lamun Band is garnering international attention and would very much appreciate
counting YOU among their supporters!

“Killer blues/funky soul-vibe along with
some excellent Nashville musicians.”
~ Val Lupescu, Guitarist

From Colorado originally, "Little Laura" and Dave Allen now call Music City, Nashville, TN their home. Long-time singers and musicians, this pair united in 2007 to begin making music together as songwriters and performers. Their history is the business is extensive, but the proof is in their songs and these performances, captured mostly live in the studio. While all 12 cuts are originals and sound totally fresh, you can hear rich classic rock and funk influences in their blues work. Each song sounds familiar for that reason: the hooks are catchy, arrangements are complex & creative, and the band's love of playing music comes though every cut. Their shared purpose is to seek to make the listener feel better, and the glowing reviews for this record are proof that the band's mission is working.

“This record doesn’t even let you breathe – it is balls-to-the-wall the whole time!" - Andy Scheinman

“I really liked your material, really like the groove on “I Don’t Love My Baby” – but “Breath Of Fresh Air” blew me away. Lots of great songs, they just kept coming!” - Jim Loyd, Jim Loyd Mastering

"Dave’s killin’ the kit and blowin’ the hell out of a harp, Kenne’s smokin’ the guitar leads and Jake’s wailin’ away on the piano, Randy all over the bass...and Little Laura is absolutely magnificent..." - Peter "Blewwzman" Lauro

The music spans classic blues shuffles, to blues that flirts with rock, gets down into all-out Prince/Sly Stone funk, takes a turn into Blues-Grass, and then rattles you with a gospel torch song. This powerhouse songwriting-duo is becoming best known for their exceptional, super tight duet singing that simply sounds like no one else out there. The harmony singing (sometimes 5-part) is a feature of the band that harkens back to CSNY or the Beatles, many say Delaney & Bonnie, or James and Carly - and it is refreshing to hear it again!

This band can also ROCK hard, and explosively bridges genres all the way from True Blues to Americana-Jam.

The Allen-Lamun Band are members of the Blues Foundation, and the Nashville Blues Society, as well as the award-winning Colorado Blues Society. Also associated with the Mary4Music label, the Allen-Lamun Band have a song on their recent compilations Volume 5, 6, 8 and 9.
