Biography
Alex Niedt (pronounced "neet") is a Kansas City recording artist, producer, and mix engineer whose first EP release, Don’t Forget To Tip Your Bartender, is now available at iTunes and other online retailers. The EP and accompanying music video have been well-received, garnering descriptions such as "one-man-band creations that combine dreamy swirls of electronics with Niedt’s alternating vocal gravel and silk".
Showing eclectic taste and range, the Lex Luger-produced "Hold Me Down" and covers of Tim Buckley's "Song To The Siren" and The Beach Boys' "Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder)" are available for download from Bandcamp. Currently in the works is a collaborative album with rapper Cali Stylz, signed to producer Danja's N.A.R.S. Records. Niedt and Danja will handle production duties. The first single, "Mercenary (Move Back Out)" is now available for free download.
Niedt is also venturing into the film world with director Zac Eubank on the upcoming series Funny Days, where he will once again showcase multi-talents and versatility through music, sound design, and mixing.
In early 2012, Niedt won the MixFest Competition, hosted and judged by Grammy-winner Dave Pensado, and appeared on Pensado's Place.
