I wrote this tune for Dutch jazz pianist (and my uncle-in-law) Rene Van Helsdingen, the most incredible musician I’ve ever had the opportunity to play music with. Whether he knows it or not, playing with Rene completely changed my trajectory as a musician. I am indebted to him for this inspiration and I hope this tune can help honor him as a musician and human being.
