The Morning After
What happened on the morning after
From the day that we were born
We heard the distant ring of laughter
So we resolved to brave that storm
Just let the winds surround you, protect you from the fray
Dark clouds form high above you if I can’t have my way
I guess I never had a clue
Something in my mind told me what to do
When we all picture roses
Well then it must be good for us now
I know we never meant forever
The seeds were sewn but the season wrong
Those hearts that only words can sever
It’s a lonely place where we belong
Just let the winds surround you, protect you from the fray
Dark clouds form high above you if I can’t have my way
I guess we didn’t wait our turn
We had everything but we never learned that
If we just picture roses
Well then it must be good for us now
My heart is open wide
But you got to do what you can
You might want to cut that line
Before it’s out of your hands
Just let the winds surround you, protect you from the fray
Dark clouds form high above you if I can’t have my way
I guess I never had a clue
Something in my mind told me what to do
When we all picture roses
Well then it must be good for us now
