Singer-songwriter Matthew Mutch was born in Hamilton, Ontario - better known as Steeltown. Walking The Way Of St. James is his third cd, coming on the heels of the much praised Steeltown Pilgrim.
All songs on this new release were inspired by his many pilgrimages on the Camino Santiago in Spain. In the past four years he has walked El Norte (850k), Camino Frances (830k) Via De Plata (1050k) the Camino Ingles (100k), Camino Primitivo (250k) and more.
Matthew walks alone-his guitar is his company. He writes about what he sees, who he meets and, of course, how he feels. The results necessarily reflect the gamut of human emotions-love, fear, joy, sadness and an ending sense of wonder.
From these personal journeys Matthew has crafted 14 songs into a rootsy Americana delight -- Walkin' The Way of St. James.
Matthew is accompanied by JK Gulley (guitars, mandolin), Jeff Beauchamp ( bass), Ray Kitney (drums and percussion), Gary Kreller (accordian), Linsey Becket (fiddle) together with vocalists Mati Haskell, JK Gulley, Ray Kitney and Anna Buira Ceron.
