Biography
Valerie Davis is HOT!!!! Hard Rock and Rough Soul collide in Valerie’s voice and in her music. After traveling the world and singing background vocals for some of the biggest names in the business, Valerie Davis is finally taking the lead on her own project for UE3 Records/Sony/RED. Her record is a dynamic brew of searing rock anthems and soulful ballads. Backing her up are guitar greats Michael Landau and Mr Mister's Steve Ferris. Drums were handled by Pat Benatar's Ray Brinker and Bass by Lee Sklar. The record was produced by Barry Coffing and mixed by Nickelback's Dale Penner. This summer you can see her playing her music live at the Hollywood Rock Convention and opening for Little Feet w/ Mitch Perry. When she's not out with her own band she'll be touring with Taylor Dayne and Jeffrey Osborne.
With a featured article in "Music Connection" last December, look for things to really heat up this summer. Look for featured articles in "LA Weekly" and her song "I Can't Help Myself" in the feature film "Tru Loved". The film stars Alexandra Paul from Baywatch and Nichelle Nichols from "Star Trek" fame. The soundtrack also features tracks by Melissa Etheridge and Rufus Wainwright.
Fox Sports will begin rotating, Valerie's crunch-time sports anthem song, "It Ain't Over" in some of their select sports promos.
Valerie just signed with commercial/theatrical agent Jackie Stander who is not only booking summer dates but also has her reading for acting parts. As the weather gets hotter, look for Valerie's career to do the same!
Valerie Davis was born in California and grew up in Delaware, after spending her younger years in Newmarket England, a stone’s throw away from musically rich London. She has earned a living as one of the top session singers in Los Angeles, recording with Toni Braxton, Celine Dion, Earth Wind & Fire and the late Luther Vandross, to name just a few. Her film, television and commercial work includes several projects for Disney, Pepsi, Infiniti, and Coke and ABC and CBS. Valerie has written two songs reaching gold status. "Till U Come Back 2 Me" by 4-octave range jazz crooner Rachelle Ferrell and a song for the feature film "Deep Cover" starring Laurence Fishburne and Jeff Goldblum. She has shared the stage with Whitney Houston, Bette Midler, and Chaka Khan. Now it's her turn to take the center stage.
Valerie was inspired to write her first single "I FOUND ME" after watching OPRAH interview Kristin Armstrong (Lance Armstrong's ex-wife). Kristin spoke of her book, "Happily Ever After" - Walking Through a Year Of Divorce. The song speaks of loss and tradegy ending in triumph, something so many of us go through.
