Soldiers of Dust
Life in a slow dying town is no life for me
The faces in fools masquerade are so hard to see
My brothers and I are just pawns in a game
This town’s like a tombstone bearing our names
We live in these cities of rust
Like soldiers of dust

Leave it or love it, when push comes to shove it’s the same
The colors are not black or white, red, blue, or grey
Love is a crime when your heart’s on your sleeve
Sisters of mercy look sad eyed to me
Drowning in rivers of rust
Like angels of dust

Here is the handout-less fate of a hard working one
Judged by the money you make and where you came from
I know there’s something bigger than these
It’s not what you’re told, it’s what you believe
We live in these cities of rust
Like soldiers of dust

We live in these cities of rust
Like soldiers of dust
