A popular performer and songwriter from Nashville, Monty moved to Connecticut in 2005 and soon became friends with Rock Hearts frontman, Alex MacLeod. They had performed together in two bands before coming together to help form Rock Hearts in 2013.

Monty’s has an extensive catalog of original material. However, MacLeod admits that he has wanted to record Walk Away since the first time he heard Monty perform it. The boys in Rock Hearts enjoy the style of the song, a great percussive beat and interplay between the bass, mandolin, and fiddle. The song lends plenty of room for soaring vocal arrangements, backed up by some exciting instrumentation.
