everywhere we’re waving flags
talking ‘bout national pride
while we burn the bridges our fathers built
to keep us unified

my little boy caught a bull frog
brought it home gave it a name
kept it in an old fish tank for a week
then let him go again

people are crossing continents

my seven year old daughter
just picked up a guitar
played me something by the white stripes
